A New Look And Feel For Our Wine Labels

We’re excited to unveil our brand-new wine labels with the 2022 vintage and share a fresh and vibrant way to experience the story of our Estate. Each single-parcel label is a tribute to the unique character and terroir of its grand cru site. Like the redesign of our winery in 2018, which aligned with our vineyard parcels, the new labels are intended to illuminate and celebrate the differences among our single-parcel wines.

2022 Triple Black Slopes Pinot Noir on table

Winemaker Erik Kramer loves to describe our wines as each having its own distinct personality—from the sophisticated Emery and elusive Clairière to the powerful and intense Triple Black Slopes. Collaborating with Erik, designer Adam Shonkwiler brought these personalities to life using embossed lines of varying weights, directions, and curves to capture each site’s topography and singular expression. The result is a design that allows you to see and feel the wine’s texture in your hands while the border, inspired by the view from the tasting room, invites you to imagine the terrain.

Each parcel's uniqueness means no two labels are alike. Aliette’s fine strokes reflect its ethereal personality and delicate texture, with wavy lines to capture the way the wine floats across the palate. Kiana’s lines of varying weights and directions evoke its energetic, party-going personality. Together, each of the six single-parcel labels combine to form the design on our flagship Estate Pinot Noir label.

Interestingly, our new labels are so textural that they posed a challenge when it came to printing them and adhering them to the bottles. We worked through those challenges and are thrilled with the final results.

We hope the inspiration behind these designs deepens your connection to the Estate and the incredible wines it produces.
